well Jc, your right about the FBI and as far as scenario 1 and 2, I guess anything could have happened that night, after all look at today in the world of modern technology, how much is missed, goofed, covered up. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a cover up, not one bit.

Maybe some in the FBI believe in the 2 z theory, but not all of them. If you read through the fbi files on the case they almost always refer to the zodiac as a lone offender. The head of the profiling department, John Douglas, goes with the single z theory. To say the fbi endorses the 2 z theory is very misleading. Where did you read that the fbi believes that the zodiac murders were carried out by multiple people?

Golden, I for one have not ever read any mention of a tandem Zodiac team. However if you read between the lines when you read witness statements and police reports, one may draw a conclusion that in order for the events to take place as witnessed and or reported it would have to involve more than one person. You have to start to link scenarios together to draw such conclusions, for example the LB witness reports, 2 very different descriptions of men seen at the scene, how do you explain this. Do you just cast one of them off as being error, or do you conclude that there where 2 totally different individuals there? Your guess is as good as any.

I just had a weird thought....has anyone ever thought that Paul could have been involved in any way with the killings and Z needed to remove him? Maybe he drove Z around to the murders and this was (Paul thought) another ride to another murder...it turns out it was his own!! I dont know...I am tired and just thought of that out of the blue! It would fit somehow though...killing this "random" guy might not have been so random aferall!.... Okay - I need some sleep! I have been on overload all day after I saw that news clip with Dennis holding the mask.

I read he picked up the killer on Geary Street, with the destination of Washington and Maple Streets. Scroll down to about the middle of the article.

I did a Google map of the route I feel could have been the route taken by Zodiac in the cab that night. The route appears to only be about a 12 minute ride. When you zoom the map and click the street view you get a pedestrians eye view of the murder site.

Whiz,

exactly, I still have not been able to find out where on Geary he was picked up. Does anyone know?

and

Apparently there are some details about that night that only SFPD knows about, have they published those details yet?

one has to wonder how, with likely major blood on his clothes, z was able to get back.....home. bus? hitch? streetcar? cable car? not likely? taxi? maybe, but again, blood on the new taxi. Codriver? that works. lived nearby? that works. heard he drove a moped per dennis. had it parked near geary/presidio? or his car?

Saturday, October 11, 1969, San Francisco cab driver Paul Stine picked up a fare at the corner of Mason and Geary Streets in Union Square headed for the Presidio, which lies at the northern tip of the San Francisco peninsula. The destination that Stine entered in his log and called in to his dispatcher was at the corner of Washington and Maple Streets in Presidio Heights.
