thewraith, I also thought the unabomber/poison Tylenol link thing interesting.

I wonder if they've made some improvements in the use of DNA or if they were fishing for a confession from Ted K? Maybe it just politics?

Nanette, a while back you posted

Quote:
02/20/11 at 02:58 AM #45 I found that interesting myself, and that is why I printed the letter. I thought it was interesting that this was kept in the file, and the contents were very JT'ish. There were some striking similarities or I wouldn't have wasted my time printing it. I just don't know if I will get around to examining anymore handwriting in this case until Napa PD finishes up and responds to the last report I gave them. Now we see some interesting movement and segments out of the blue, like NBC Today and AMW. I am starting to wonder what they have going on? Napa Co. has been given grant money to do DNA testing only they say, and Zodiac is not on the top of the list due to lack of evidence to test. Their expected time frame to visit this case is sometime this summer. My only issue here is that I brought them the handwriting report unknowing of those facts, and still I was given the horse and pony show. What kind of response is, "we may get to it this summer." I thought their job was to investigate any potential lead to it's exhaustion in order to solve crimes and bring justice to the victims. So, I ask if the DNA isn't expected to yield high results then why are they waiting on the handwriting? It appears to be the same old run around that Dennis has been getting for the past 12 years. SFPD botches DNA testing, the FBI while saying that the case is an open investigation is not really "actively" investigating, LAPD has given direct orders to their cold case detective to discontinue looking into Jack Tarrance (failing to return the negatives of the Black Dahlia photo???), much of the evidence Dennis has turned over to authorities has been permanently lost, and now we have Napa PD and Sheriff's department falling right into suit with, "we may be getting to it this summer." I have never personally seen such a collection of individuals who ask you to do things like putting a handwriting report together for them, but never ever respond or deny that JT is the Zodiac. It's almost as if they fear saying no about JT because they don't know what Dennis will come up with next for evidence that would make them all look really bad for trying to say it wasn't JT. I am contrived!!! __________________ Have a positive and inspirational day! :)

Do you have any updates on the Napa report you sent them? Did they get back to you yet?

I think that in view of the recent past; this case will be constantly updating with new clues, more things are coming together all the time.

Nanette, isn't a known official fact that there are other pieces of BD case evidence missing from way back when it was gathered in 1947? I'm sure I read that. I read that they thought somebody took things as souvenirs.

Also it seems to me that the case files went to Sacramento, perhaps the LAPD simply assumed that Dennis wasn't looking to get the negative back? Just a guess on my part.

How a person can protect their property in this instance is dicey esp when it's evidence in a murder investigation, it's a deal you need a lawyer involved with. Remember that there is no statute of limitations on murder so technically they may legally have every right to hold that negative. Also remember that they aren't legally bound to share what they have unless a judge grants a freedom of information lawsuit in favor of a public citizen as in the case of the King family in the OCC killers case.

I'm not trying to bum anyone out, I'm just trying to convey my limited understanding of the legal process.

Getting more and more clear thinking people to examine what we have here is the way to go, that's dicey too because most people operate in a "knee jerk" manner rather than carefully thinking things through. Look at how the vast majority of people vote and they do so based on "perception" rather than objection and subjection...the don't think things through carefully....sorry to say.

How do you figure that I'm trying to start something?

If you give something to someone, then how do you prove that you did, do you get a receipt, have a witness with you, maybe take a video of the transaction? WTF wraith, do you just get mad when they let you down, what good will that do you? It would be nice if you could always trust LE but I guess you can't.

Let me point out that you're the one that's started the name calling. WTF

Dennis, maybe you're way ahead of me on this...but I'd file a written complaint against the cop shop regarding the missing negative, maybe also file a lawsuit or calmly threaten to. They still have it or can trace who had custody of it last. If someone there kept it intentionally maybe that same person has taken other things too.

I'll bet someone in the cop shop took the negative as being the real deal.

Then I restate my last post and add that it's good that you were with him when he dropped it off, as you know it would have been good if you were there both times. Hope I'm not making a Jackass out of myself when my intentions are good!

I don't think that it's too late for him to recover that negative, the "custody of evidence" thing is something the police take very seriously and you can bet that they will put everybody concerned on the hotseat, Dennis just has to be calm and tenacious about getting it back, the person that kept it could find themselves in a lot of trouble esp if they delivered it to him, that part does seen very strange and suspicious, that last point needs to be repeated when they balk.
