The large smaller case "T" on the 13 Victims Card does stand out. Just another clue to T for Tarrance? There are too many of these T's to be found just to be coincidence. The stamps, the letters, Halloween Card (KASE section) and I am still looking, too.

I think you can use a 7x magnifying glass and get a better feel for the detail.

I thought I already emailed you the 4c card? I will find the email I sent you and resend it. :)

I had forgot you did email me the stamp........and that was just another one of my stupid jokes anyways.........I was wanting you to email me a microscope.........lol

IAmTheOne, yes the jTarr is the SadBadge one that you emailed. I will get you the 13 Victims Card Closeup off the old Microfilm photocopy. I am pretty sure that the microfilm copying machine used photocopy and not just zeroxed it. Hard to explain but when I copied alot, years ago, photocopy was different, more sharper than zeroxing. Anyway, it's on it's way.

Thanks catseye! Jon55 you so funny! LOL If there was only a program on the computer that would do it for you! Have you seen the link on the Snuff Films thread about Rick Larsen? I believe this breaks a huge whole in his stories, and btw he hasn't contacted me since I sent the message. I would love to here what prompted such a huge turn around for him.

Jon55,

I just took a look at the 13 victims postcard from catseye and noticed that the script for the Chronicle is similar to the cutouts on the Donna card. The h in Chronicle on this card carries the same letter formation. So, maybe the j under the m is unexplainable, but if the font of the Chronile was say old english and the h's carry this lower right leg that is formed like a j then that one may not have been placed there by Z.

You found it OK? Are you able to magnify without the aid of the computer? It tends to get fuzzy unless it's under real magnification. Say a handheld 7x magnifying glass should work.

Aren't these older Z communications supposed to be in color or have some color because of signing in blood, Stine Letter having bloody prints and the paper used? I think the stamp would have at least been in color. So what I am referring to, is that maybe it's possible that we could have seen if lines were connected with maybe blue ink to different color on the stamp. Without this, we are seeing things in B&W. I hope this stamp can be found online to do more comparisons.

Here is another I found! However, I would have to say that this version makes the 4c look like that j discovered in Z's postcard. I just found it, so I will inspect further.

I think I found the area of the buildings on the Postcard and they might be around the Paradice Motel on Park Ave. South Lake Tahoe. In that area it's now called Heavenly Village and there's a gondola that goes up to the Ski Lifts at Heavenly Valley. The whole area in that section of South Lake Tahoe boasts of Peek-a-Boo Lake views and "Peek through the pines" views of the lake! And that same area around Paradice Motel was under construction circa 1970 with Townhomes/Condos just like what seen in this card. I am hazarding a guess that, since Zodiac (it looks to be JACK!) was probably staying or working at Paradice Motel 1969 and in 1970 the view with the hole punch on the Postcard is probably NE as Jack apparently was good at direction finding that if Donna Lass was truly a victim, she might be at that spot. The word Paradice is first seen in the 1969 cryptograms, so, this is why I think he was staying and/or working there but I don't know for sure.

Edited (1/2 hr later?) Since Jack seems to be big on Radians and Mt. Diablo as a focal point, then the hole punch on the Donna Lass Postcard would be SW and facing the pines, just like the picture. Check the satalite views of Park Ave. South Lake Tahoe...it's eerie!

Interesting new lead on Donna Lass.

Quote:
Garrido in Reno when Tahoe woman vanished in 1970
By Frank X. Mullen August 31, 2009

The sister of a 25-year-old woman who was abducted from South Lake Tahoe in 1970 said she wonders if the suspect in the 1991 kidnapping of Jaycee Lee Dugard is connected to the 39-year-old mystery.

“As soon as I heard about the (Dugard) case last week I thought that this could be something related to my sister’s disappearance,” said Mary Pilker of Sioux Falls, S.D., the sister of Donna Ann Lass. Lass, a nurse at the Sahara Hotel-Casino who vanished Sept. 6, 1970, after leaving work at the casino and never arriving home.

Phillip Craig Garrido, 58, is charged with the kidnapping and rape of Dugard, who was then 11 years old and waiting for a school bus near her South Lake Tahoe home when she was forced into a car. Garrido allegedly imprisoned Dugard in his backyard in Antioch, Calif., for 18 years.

In 1976, Garrido kidnapped a 25-year-old woman from a South Lake Tahoe parking lot and raped her in a Reno warehouse in a space he prepared for the crime. An hour before that woman was abducted, police said Garrido attempted to kidnap another woman from a South Lake Tahoe parking lot.

Garrido’s relatives, contacted Monday, said Phillip Garrido moved to Reno from California when he was about 19 years old. That places him in the area when Lass disappeared in 1970.
Lt. Les Lovell of the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said late Monday that Lass’ disappearance “has haunted the Tahoe Basin” for 39 years. He said the news that the suspect in the Dugard case was reportedly in Reno in 1970 may be a good lead.

Lovell said he will discuss the matter with FBI agents assigned to the Lass case.
“There are a lot of similarities among these cases,” Pilker said Monday. “I’ve been trying to get through to the South Lake Tahoe police to look into this.”

Previous reports on the Lass case have linked her disappearance to the Zodiac killer, but no connection has ever been proven. The Zodiac was a serial killer who terrorized the Northern California in the late 1960s.
The Reno police detective who worked on the 1976 kidnapping and rape case that put Garrido in federal prison in Kansas for 11 years said he recalled Garrido’s name as soon as he heard it on the news last week.

(2 of 2)

“I looked him up and there he was in my ‘attaboy’ file” said former Reno police Detective Dan DeMaranville, now a federal security officer. “I remember (Garrido). He was a tall, nice-looking young man but he was one sick puppy.”

Garrido, who was 25 in 1976, had prepared a space in a Reno mini warehouse with rugs, a spotlight, a movie projector, pornographic magazines and sex toys. He kidnapped a 25-year-old casino worker, brought the victim to the warehouse and raped her.
He was arrested when Reno police Officer Clifford Conrad, who saw a car parked next to the warehouse and a broken door lock, entered and interrupted the crime.
“(Conrad) was on the ball,” DeMaranville said. “I was proud of him. I’m still proud of him today.”

He said the Garrido didn’t strike him as a killer, but it was uncertain what Garrido planned to do with his 1976 victim after he raped her.
Ron Garrido, the suspect’s brother, told the San Francisco Chronicle this week that the brothers grew up in Brentwood, Calif., with their parents, Manuel and Pat Garrido. Their childhood was relatively unremarkable, he said, until Phillip Garrido began acting out, using LSD and dealing drugs.

Phillip Garrido graduated from Liberty High School in 1969 and moved to Reno shortly afterward, his brother said. He fled California after learning that fellow drug dealers “had a contract out on him,” Ron Garrido said.

Phillip Garrido would have been 19 years old when Donna Ann Lass disappeared. By 1976, he was living on Market Street in Reno, court documents said.
Authorities in California are looking at Garrido in connection with the murders of prostitutes in the 1990s and also in connection with abductions of young girls that occurred after Garrido was paroled in Nevada in 1988. He served seven months in Nevada State Prison for the sexual assault connected with the 1976 kidnapping.

He came back to Nevada to serve a 5 years to life sentence after serving 11 years in Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary in Kansas. He was eligible for parole before he arrived in the state, officials said, and was released in 1988 as a federal parolee.
“I doubt if (the 1976 kidnapping) was his first sex crime,” Pilker said. “If he was in Reno in 1970, you need to see if he was connected to my sister’s disappearance.”

NanetteB, glad somebody responded to this post of the new lead as what is going on with Garrido seems to play in the Jack Tarrance court with all the claims of LSD, drugs and S. Lake Tahoe/Reno areas. I know Dennis has posted previously not believing Jack did LSD but so many of us, including me even long before this site existed and several members before me, have seen the LSD possibilities...RG writes about the 340 cipher decoding into an LSD angle, then the Singapore letter mentioning LSD...so, maybe, just maybe LE/FBI is scouring Garrido for any information that could help clear up more details involving Jack? We shall see? Garrido was 19 years old or so and according to relatives, was messed up on LSD by 1970 and in the same areas as Jack.
